Students and Faculty:
Prerequisites for Kaiser Permanente (KP) Unpaid Field Experience and Training
A current Kaiser Permanente Southern California School Affiliation Contract Agreement is required for a student’s unpaid field experience and training placement.
Prerequisites must be completed prior to starting at a KP facility.

Student Groups/Cohorts(Clicking on the title shows/hides more information) Student Groups/Cohorts refers to an instructor led group of students who are enrolled in a school’s healthcare-related program completing unpaid field experience and training hours at Kaiser Permanente. Timeline:Each student in the group/cohort must complete these prerequisites. Minimum 2 weeks in advance: Complete numbers 1-4 below

Faculty (On-Site) (Clicking on the title shows/hides more information) Faculty refers to a school’s unpaid field experience and training person providing instruction on-site. Timeline:Student Placement Request (see Medical Center Specific Information section)

Clinical Coordinator/Designee (Clicking on the title shows/hides more information) This section should only be completed by the Clinical Coordinator/Designee who verifies and documents Student and Faculty prerequisites. These documents should be used for students/on-site faculty only and are to be referenced by the clinical coordinator/designee. Timeline:Student Placement Request (see Medical Center Specific Information section)

Individual Preceptorship Student (Clicking on the title shows/hides more information) An Individual Preceptorship Student is enrolled in a school’s healthcare-related program who will be completing their unpaid field experience and training under one-to-one direct supervision with a KP employee or provider. Timeline:Each Individual Preceptorship Student must complete these prerequisites.
