VS. Spongebob Parodies (2024)

VS. Spongebob Parodies is a mod owned by NelsonHazlett, and originally created by brickboy with the name Vs. Squidward from We Gotta Get SpongeBob Back, which is themed around SpongeBob SquarePants parodies on YouTube, Newgrounds, and many other websites. Nelson also has a playlist on his YouTube channel titled SpongeBob Parodies that possibly shows what will come to the mod.

Story

It's a nice Monday morning, you and your GF are bored after watching SpongeBob SquarePants. So, you both decide to go on YouTube and search up SpongeBob, so you guys watch some videos, like people ranting about SpongeBob, making animations, SpongeBob lookalikes and knockoffs and possibly some cringe videos out of the yellow sponge. But you find something different than before, you and your GF found a SpongeBob parody that's...a little more different than the rest. You both shrug and decided to watch one, but this SpongeBob parody includes...you? And your GF as well! This is not an ordinary fan-made SpongeBob animation, but this one is certainly f*cking confusing.

Types of Notes

• Spatula Notes

In Shark Hunt, 6 spatula notes will appear, if the player fails to hit them, Spongebob Sickpants will hit Sick BF with his spatula, which lowers your health. In Stomach Flu (D-Sides) these notes appear throughout the song.

• Bullet Note

In Shooting Star and Rock And Roll, bullet notes will appear. The player is required to hit them to avoid losing health.

• Santiago Notes

In Santiago, these notes will keep appearing constantly, the player is required to not hit them. If you hit these notes, it will cause your health to start draining, if you hit more, your health will drain faster.

• Piss Notes

In Deathrun and Parkour there are piss notes, when hit, they lower your health and flash the screen yellow.

• Sword Notes

In Purgatory, hitting the red Sword Notes will cause your health to be lowered greately, likewise, missing the green Sword Notes will do the same.

Mechanics

• Spatula
  • In Tears Of Joy, a big spatula will start moving around the screen, which will make it harder for the player to focus on the arrows. It's similar to Tricky's stop sign moving around the screen in Expurgation.
• TV
  • In Human Trafficking, the TV in the center will often give a command to press the left, down, up or right arrow at the correct moment. Failing to do so will cause the player to lose a massive amount of health, likely killing them. Occasionally, the arrow required will change until the very last second.
• Health Drain
  • At the last section of Stomach Flu, each note Spongebob Sickpants hits, will make the player's health drain. After the first attack in Human Trafficking, throughout the rest of the song Rigamarole Mr. Krabs will drain your health with every note he hits. In Santiago, the player's health will start draining after a few seconds, Wolfensponge Girlfriend drains your health while singing in Volkermord, Sponge Furnace drains your health while singing in the second half of Charcoal, in SCAREY! Scary Spongebob drains your health in his SCAREY form and in Anomaly each time Glitchpants.Json hits a note, the players health starts to drain.
• High Effect
  • In Cannabis, the note speed changes repeatedly to represent the "being high" effect.
• Instakill Miss
  • In Fair Labor And Red Dragon you have to FC the songs because if you miss a note, the player gets an instant game over.
• Camera Effects
  • In Tears of Joy, Stomach Flu, Shark Hunt, Rock And Roll, Shagged, Volkermord, Deathrun, Adult Humor, and Anomaly the camera will start rotating left and right throughout the song, sometimes the screen will also zoom in and out.
• NO PAUSING
  • In Santiago, the player can't pause the song, hitting the pause button will display an image of Santiago saying "NO PAUSING".
• Note Inverting
  • In Santiago, the notes will sometimes be inverted.
• Note Effects
  • In Tears of Joy, Muqziz, Shagged, Human Trafficking, Adult Humor, Holy Tony, SCAREY!, and Anomaly the arrows will begin to move around, making it harder to focus on when to hit.

Trivia (General)

• China BF's name was supposed to be 男朋友, but that didn't work so it was changed to Nán péngyǒu.
  • Nán péngyǒu is literally "Boyfriend" in Chinese.
• Every BF is in the style of the Spongebob Parodies, to represent the original video.
• Nelsonhazlett made come concept art of vs SpongeBob parodies in 8/7/21 before this mod was created
• While making the winning icons, half of them was ideas that were made by funny boy, for the winning icon of Revenge SpongeBob, the reference for it is The Rock's Eyebrow Rais meme
• Spongebob Sickpants' mad winning icon represents the smiling teeth of Troll BF.
• The hidden sponges were inspired by ArtSpear Entertainment after the video is done, there will be secrets to find in the video.
• The old version of Human Trafficking was most likely inspired by Left Unchecked.
• In the scrapped version of Shark Hunt, Sick Patrick doesn't even sing
• Like Vs. Dave and Bambi, this mod can bring you to the secret song Anomaly if you press 7 on any song.
• Cook Eat Die's song name was actually inspired by the line "Play, Create, Die", a level name for a creepypasta named "Sackboy.exe"

• Get Him Back (Both Legacy and New versions) & Human Trafficking (Legacy) both have leitmotifs to Grass Skirt Chase.
• The old version of Human Trafficking also has 2 leitmotifs to Left-Unchecked and Challeng-EDD (END Mix).
• Shooting Star (Both Legacy and New versions) has 2 leitmotifs to Get Him Back & (possibly) Expunged's part in Applecore.
• Fair Labor has 3 leitmotifs to The Big Dingle, Welcome old and TableBanger.
• The old version of Remakeboot contains a leitmotif to Grass Skirt Chase.
• Truth Hurts contains a leitmotif to Iron Curtain.
