Unique Attacks

Some characters have strong attacks with rare or unique properties or mechanics.

Charged Attacks

Tap and hold the attack button to charge the attack and increase its damage output. If the attack also has a healing effect, charging the attack also increases the amount healed. You can still move and dodge while charging an attack.

Barriers

While a barrier is in effect, the player character is immune to three enemy attacks and all allies are immune to one enemy attack.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (8)

A barrier lasts for 20 seconds once triggered.

Buffs

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (9) Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (10) Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (11)

Buffs increase the player character and any allies' stats for a short time.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (12)

A graphical effect surrounds a character when a buff is in effect.

When a buff is used on a character in a debuffed state, the debuff will be cancelled and the buff will increase the character's stats. In the same way, enemies can counter debuffs by activating buffs of their own.

Debuffs

Debuffs reduce the stats of any enemies in the area of effect for a short time.

A graphical effect surrounds an enemy when a debuff is in effect.

When a debuff is used on an enemy in a buffed state, the buff will be cancelled and the debuff will decrease the enemy's stats. In the same way, enemies can counter buffs to you and your allies by activating debuffs of their own.

Automatic Revival

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (15)

The automatic revival effect only works one time per character. The word "Protected" is displayed when the automatic revival is triggered. If a character's Stamina reaches zero after the effect is triggered, they will automatically be revived to half Stamina.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (16)

Auto revival does not affect characters that have already been knocked out.

Auto revival effects do not stack, so if a Special Move with the auto revival effect is used multiple times before a character's Stamina reaches zero, that character will only be revived once.

A character's Stamina bar and thumbnail image will flash when auto revival has been triggered.

When a protected character's Stamina reaches zero, they will temporarily pass out and fall over. While they are lying on the floor, they will be surrounded by a graphic effect, and after a short while they will be revived. When they are revived, nearby enemies will be pushed back.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (17)

Pushed back enemies take no damage. Characters that have been revived in this way will still count towards clearing the "Clear the quest without any member being knocked out" Mission.

Double-Team Characters

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (18)

Double-team characters are two characters that appear at once, one of which you control and the other of which acts automatically. You can switch freely between the two characters during quests.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (19)

The character you are not controlling will attack with normal attacks alongside the character you are controlling. When you use a strong attack with the character you are controlling, the second character will interrupt whatever they are doing and launch a joint attack with the character you are controlling.

  • Only the character you are controlling takes damage.
  • The stats of the character you are not controlling are only affected by the character's Soul Trait, skills, and Accessories.
  • The damage inflicted by the normal attacks of the character you are not controlling is lower than when you are controlling that character.
  • If the Stamina of the character you are controlling reaches zero, the character you are not controlling will disappear from the battlefield.
  • During Auto mode, double-team characters will not automatically switch places.
  • The character change button cannot be used when a character is affected by a status ailment.

Transformation Characters

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (20)

Transformation characters can change their form during quests. The transformation affects many things, including the character's normal attacks, strong attacks, and Special Move. The character will revert to their original form a short time after the transformation.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (21)

Once tapped, the transform button will enter a cooldown period before it can be used again. Some characters also gain Innate Skills after their transformation.

Gauge

Every normal attack, strong attack, or Special Move performed builds up a gauge. When that gauge is full, performing a specific attack will activate the Gauge Effect, which provides a buff.
The attack required to activate the Gauge Effect is set by each Gauge and will be either a normal or a strong attack.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (23)

1. Every normal attack, strong attack, or Special Move performed builds up a yellow gauge.
2. If the attack required to activate the Gauge Effect is not performed when the gauge is full, it will remain full until the Gauge Effect is activated.
3. When the attack required to activate the Gauge Effect has been performed, a buff will be applied to the character.
You can confirm which attack will activate the Gauge Effect by checking the icon next to the gauge.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (24) Use a normal attack when the gauge is full to activate the Gauge Effect.
Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (25) Use a strong attack when the gauge is full to activate the Gauge Effect.

Barrage Attack

This attack deals continuous damage to enemies within range for a fixed amount of time. While barrage is being used, the character cannot move or initiate any other attacks. The barrage attack will continue until it is finished or it is cancelled. A display beneath the character will indicate when it will finish.

Any of the following will cancel the barrage attack.

  • Dodging while using the attack
  • Taking damage from an enemy (unless the character has the Poise skill)
  • Being moved by a knock-back effect from Last-Ditch Survival, Auto Revive, or from an enemy in an Epic Raid
  • Afflicted with Freeze, Paralysis, Slow, or Laceration
  • If a member in a Co-Op Quest changes the quest

The cooldown countdown of this attack does not begin when the skill is activated. It begins when the attack has finished or been cancelled.

Two-Stage Charged Attack

Tapping the Strong Attack button will unleash the first stage of the two-stage charged attack, while tapping the button and then holding it down for a certain period of time will unleash a powerful second attack. However, holding the button for less time than required at this stage will result in a less powerful follow-up attack.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (27) Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (28)

Until the second-stage attack is activated, the first-stage attack will inflict damage on all enemies in its area of effect while the attack button is being pressed, but it will only deal damage once to each enemy.

Unique Attacks|Bleach: Brave Souls Official|KLabGames (29)

While the first-stage attack is being used, the character cannot move or use another attack. Furthermore, any of the following will stop the first stage of the attack and prevent the second stage from being charged:

- Dodging while using the attack
- Taking damage from an enemy (unless the character has the Poise skill)
- Being moved by a knock-back effect from Last-Ditch Survival, Auto Revive, or from an enemy in an Epic Raid
- Afflicted with Freeze, Paralysis, Slow, or Laceration

If a two-stage charged attack is interrupted, the cooldown time until it can be used again begins at the moment it was cancelled, not activated.

If the Strong Attack button is held down for a certain amount of time after the first-stage attack is unleashed, a second-stage attack with a bigger area of effect and increased power will be activated automatically.

If the Strong Attack button is released before the second-stage attack is fully charged, an attack of the same power and range as the first stage will be unleashed.

In Auto mode, only the lesser second-stage attack will be activated.
